Whether your pet has difficulty traveling or is overly anxious at the vet, or you have mobility limitations, you can still get the care your pet needs. Old Ridge Veterinary Hospital started off as a mobile vet unit and then grew into a stationary hospital, so we know the mobile space well and gladly extend our services into the comfort of your home.

Services We Provide at House Calls

Our veterinarian is able to provide many essential services during house calls to keep your cat or dog in peak condition, while also helping reduce their stress by examining them at home.

Services we often perform include:

Physical exams      Nail trims      Vaccine administration      Parasite prevention prescription and administration      Drawing blood for testing      Collection of fecal samples for testing      Nutrition and behavioral counseling      And more

In addition to the services we provide for cats and dogs, we're also able to offer some assistance with chicken, ducks, geese, and other poultry flocks. We can perform physical exams and other basic services to keep them healthy or recommend further services at our hospital.

How to Prepare for a Mobile Vet Visit

Before your appointment, please follow this checklist to make sure the visit goes as smoothly as possible:

  • Make sure you have an open, clutter-free area of your house where the veterinarian can examine your pet(s).
  • Try to reschedule any visitors to your home during the appointment time.
  • Seclude any other pets who are not being seen in another room or outdoors to limit distractions.
  • While we ask that there not be too many people in the room, we may ask one member of your family to stay with us in case we have questions, or need assistance with your pet.

If you have any questions or concerns before or after your house call visit, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at (484) 383-8387!
